The registration fee is 80 € and includes the Social Dinner. We kindly request participants to pay in cash on arrival.
All the talks of the Conference will take place at Residencia San José, a private Residence Hall in El Escorial. The prices per person (including meals) at the residence are:
Please recall that all payments should be made in cash and upon arrival. No credit cards are allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to you.
Only a limited number of rooms are available. If you wish to book a room, indicate so in the Registration Form specifying clearly the arrival and departure dates to the residence. If you want to book a double room, you should indicate your roommate in the Registration Form.
Residencia San José provides sufficiently large lecture rooms, as well as room and full board for all those participants who may wish to stay there along with some basic services.
The building has been renovated recently. All rooms have a private bathroom and shower. Besides the dining room where all meals will be served, there is a small cafeteria and vending machines for soft drinks or beer. Although some of the services available are modest or limited, we (the organizers) found the place comfortable and pleasant.
However, participants are reminded that Residencia San José is neither a research institute nor a hotel and therefore does not offer some of the typical services one may expect. For example, there is no library and the possibilities for computer connections may be limited. There will be no TV or phones in the rooms and no wake-up calls either.
For local participants who will be commuting or for those who will be staying elsewhere at El Escorial, meals will be available at Residencia San José; the price of each meal is 12 € (tickets can be purchased in advance at the Conference place).
The organization will provide transportation to the restaurant.
Unregistered participants that would like to attend the Social Dinner are requested to contact us before November 1st. The price is 60 € to be paid in cash right before the dinner. We will keep an updated list of unregistered people attending the dinner. If your name is not in the list, please contact us. (Please allow us two weeks for the process of including your data in the list)
El Escorial is located in the North-west part of the province of Madrid, at a distance of about 50 km from the capital. The Residencia San José is located in the town of El Escorial, the address is Avenida Reyes Católicos, 12 and it is in the intersection with Avenida Felipe II.
You may arrive at any of the four terminals of the airport (T1, T2 T3 or T4).
We recommend you to take the metro (it is cheap, 2€ for the trip, and it goes directly to the train station)
This is the Metro sign and you should follow it.
There is metro line connecting the airport with downtown: Line 8. Nuevos Ministerios-Aeropuerto T4
Take the Metro, Lin
Se 8 (the pink one), from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios. The trip takes about 25 min. This is a map of the Metro network with the two Aeropuerto stations and Nuevos Ministerios marked with a red circle.
Follow the signs to Renfe Cercanías (without exiting to the street). Take the train to El Escorial (Cercanías, C8a). From here follow the instructions on getting to El Escorial by train.
You may find more useful information here:
The local trains (colored in white and red, marked by the symbols of "Cercanías") are modern, comfortable, and run on time. The entrance into each station is also marked by a pole which carries the same symbol. Take the train (Cercanías, C8A) from any of these train stations: Atocha, Recoletos, Nuevos Ministerios or Chamartín (see MAP) to El Escorial (the stations Nuevos Ministerios and El Escorial are marked with a red circle). The trip takes approximately 1 hour.
From the train station at El Escorial there is a 800-meter walk uphill to the Residencia San Jose (see MAP).
