Accommodation in the Residencia San José is only available from Sunday to Friday. By mistake, we allowed people to register and stay at the Residencia until Saturday. If you need accommodation in central Madrid or in the area for the Friday night you might wish to contact the Travel Agency below.
There are no more rooms at the Residencia San José. At this stage, if you need accommodation at El Escorial you will have to contact the Travel Agency below.
Here you can find information about
The registration fee is:
All the talks of the Conference will take place at Residencia San José, a private Residence Hall in El Escorial. The prices per person (including meals) at the residence are:
Please recall that all payments should be made in cash and upon arrival. No credit cards are allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to you.
Only a limited number of rooms are available. If you wish to book a room, indicate so in the Registration Form specifying clearly the arrival and departure dates to the residence. If you want to book a single room, we urge you to do it promptly since only a small number are available. If you want to share a room, you can either indicate your roommate in the Registration Form or let the Organizing Committee arrange it for you.
Residencia San José provides
sufficiently large lecture rooms, as well as room and full board for all
those participants who may wish to stay there along with some basic services.
All rooms have a private bathroom and shower. Besides the dining room where all meals will be served, there is a small cafeteria and vending machines for soft drinks and beer. Although some of the services available are modest or limited, we (the organisers) found the place comfortable and pleasant.
However, participants are reminded that Residencia San José is neither a research institute nor a hotel and therefore does not offer some of the typical services one may expect. For example, there is no library and the possibilities for computer connections may be limited. There will be no TV or phones in the rooms and no wake-up calls either.
For local participants who will be commuting or for those who will be staying elsewhere at El Escorial, meals will be available at Residencia San José; the price of each meal is 12 € (tickets can be purchased in advance at the Conference place).
There will be a small number of grants, mainly intended for graduate students, to cover the registration fee and/or accommodation. The deadline to apply was April 27, so we no longer accept applications for grants.
Before May 20, all the applicants will receive an e-mail from the Organizing Committee with the final decision.
Some sessions of short talks will be scheduled to accommodate those participants wishing to present their own recent results. The final list of short talks will be decided during May.
There is a local Travel Agency that can assist you with hotel booking, excursions, etc:

El Escorial is located in the North-west part of the province of Madrid, at a distance of about 50 km from the capital. The Residencia San José is located in the town of El Escorial, the address is Avenida Reyes Católicos, 12 and it is in the intersection with Avenida Felipe II.
You may arrive at any of the four terminals of the airport (T1, T2, T3 or T4).
We recommend you to take the local trains (colored in white and red, marked by the symbols of "Cercanías"). You can buy a ticket from the airport to El Escorial which is the final destination. Take Line C-1 and stop at Chamartín. Once there you need to change to Line C-3 to El Escorial. The total trip is about 90 min. This is a map of the local train system with the stations Aeropuerto, Chamartín and El Escorial marked with a red circle.
You have two options.
Option 1: There is a free shuttle that connects to Terminal T4. Stops are located outside of the departure halls of T1, T2 in the upper level. Buses run frequently and the trip takes about 15 minutes. Once at Terminal T4 follow the previous instructions.
Option 2: Take the metro Line 8 (pink) to Nuevos Ministerios. The entrance to the underground can be found in the walkway connecting to car park P2 in the middle of the terminal 2. The trip takes about 25 min. This is a map of the Metro network with the two Aeropuerto stations and Nuevos Ministerios marked with a red circle.
Follow the signs to local trains called Renfe Cercanías (without exiting to the street). Take a train to El Escorial (Cercanías, C-3). The trip takes approximately 1 hour. This is a map of the local train system with the stations Nuevos Ministerios and El Escorial marked with a red circle.
From the train station at El Escorial there is a 800-meter walk uphill to the Residencia San Jose (see MAP). On Sunday, June 10, a person from the organization will be at the train station of El Escorial from 15:40 till 20:30 pm. to give you directions.
This is the schedule of trains for Sunday June 10, 2012.
