El Escorial is a town located in the North-West part of the province of Madrid, at a distance of about 50 km from the capital. Residencia San José is located in the town of El Escorial, the address is Avenida Reyes Católicos, 12 and it is at the intersection with Avenida Felipe II.
You may arrive at any of the Airport four terminals (T1, T2, T3 or T4). Check your airline.
We recommend taking a
local train
(colored in white and red, marked by the symbols of "Cercanías")
.
At the airport, you may buy a ticket to
El Escorial
which is the final destination.
Take Line C-1 and stop at Chamartín.
Once there you need to change to Line C-8A to El Escorial.
The total trip is about 90 min.

Option 1: There is a free shuttle bus that connects to Terminal T4. Stops are located outside of the departure halls of T1, T2 in the upper level. Buses run frequently and the trip takes about 15 minutes. Once at Terminal T4 follow the previous instructions.
Option 2: Take the metro Line 8 (pink line) to Nuevos Ministerios. (The metro entrance can be found in the walkway connecting to car park P2 in the middle of the terminal 2.) Without exiting to the street, follow the signs to local trains called Renfe Cercanías. Take a train to El Escorial (Cercanías, C-3). The trip takes approximately 1 hour. This is a map of the local train system with the stations Nuevos Ministerios and El Escorial circled in red.
Once in the train station at El Escorial, there is a 800-meter uphill walk to Residencia San Jose (see MAP ). On Sunday, June 12, a person from the organization will be at the El Escorial train station from 15:40 till 20:30 pm. to give you directions.
