Abstract. Stochastic geometry deals with randomly generated geometric objects. The talk presents one of the frequently studied models of stochastic geometry: stationary Poisson processes of hyperplanes. They generate lower dimensional flats by intersections and give rise to partitions of space into polytopes. It is shown how various questions on these random geometric objects can be answered by the use of classical results from convex geometry. Thsese often surprising applications use specially constructed auxiliary convex bodies.
